Source Separated Recyclable Materials or Dual-Stream Source Separated Recyclable Materials (using a Split-Container for separating Non-Organic Recyclables from SSBCOW) Guidance: A Jurisdiction may allow plastic bags to be Collected in the Blue Container; and, SB 1383 Regulations do not place any requirements or limitations on the use of plastic bags in Blue Container Collection. Jurisdictions that allow plastic bags to be Collected in the Blue Container are not required by SB 1383 Regulations to obtain notice from the Approved/Designated Source Separated Recyclable Materials Processing Facility(ies) indicating that the Facility can Process and/or remove plastic bags when Processing Source Separated Recyclable Materials.
