Acceptance of Assignment. An employee who is provided notice of assignment(s) must notify Management of the acceptance of the assignment(s) within one (1) week of receiving notice of assignment(s). If the employee has provided written notice to the Department Chair or equivalent academic unit administrator that the employee will be unreachable for a specific period of time, the employee and the Department Chair or equivalent academic unit administrator may confirm intended acceptance of the assignment before the employee is unreachable. Alternatively, if the notice of assignment is made while the employee is unreachable, and the Department Chair or equivalent academic unit administrator has agreed to the delay, the employee shall be permitted to provide notice of acceptance within one (1) week of the date the employee stated he or she would be reachable.
