Accessible Entrance Clause Samples
The Accessible Entrance clause requires that a building or facility provide at least one entrance that is usable by individuals with disabilities. This typically means the entrance must be free of barriers such as steps, have appropriate door widths, and may include features like ramps or automatic doors. The core function of this clause is to ensure equal access for all users, addressing legal and practical requirements for accessibility and preventing discrimination against people with mobility impairments.
Accessible Entrance. 1. There is no directional signage at the inaccessible entrance that indicates the location of the nearest accessible entrance. Provide directional signage at the inaccessible entrance. Standards §§ 4.1.6(1)(b), 4.1.3(8)(d), 4.30.1, 4.30.2, 4.30.3, 4.30.5.
2. The accessible entrance is not identified with the International Symbol of Accessibility. Provide identifying signage. Standards §§ 4.1.6(1)(b), 4.1.2(7)(c), 4.30.7.
Accessible Entrance i) There is currently no signage designating the accessible route from the accessible parking to the accessible entrance in the rear of the building. Provide directional signage to the accessible entrance. Accessible Entrance. A. By January 31, 2024, the District will ensure that there is an accessible route complying with Sections 402 and 403 of the 2010 ADA Standards (2010 Standards) between the main entrance of the Little Theater (the Theater) at Kingsburg High School (the School) and the entrance on either the east or west side of the Theater.
B. By January 31, 2024, the District will add signage that notifies individuals with disabilities of the location of the accessible route and of the accessible entrance to the Theater (on either the east or west side of the building as described above) that leads to the accessible seating area at the front of the Theater.
Accessible Entrance. The inaccessible front entrance has no signage directing individuals to the accessible side entrance. Post a sign directing individuals to the accessible entrance. § 4.1.3(8)(d).
Accessible Entrance. By February 28, 2019, the District will ensure that an accessible entrance to the School exists that provides the same level and degree of access as is accorded to persons without disabilities at the main entrance and that meets the applicable accessibility standard. The entrance will be on an accessible path of travel, and the District will ensure that if the entrance has an automatic door, that the automatic door meets the applicable accessibility standard. The District will also ensure that the accessible entrance is properly marked with the international symbol of accessibility and that all inaccessible entrances have signs indicating the location of the nearest accessible entrance.
Accessible Entrance. (1) The route to the accessible entrance to the small rink is a paved brick path that has deteriorated. Within 30 days of the effective date of this Agreement, the Town will provide an accessible route from the accessible parking area to the accessible entrance that is stable, firm, and slip resistant. Standards §§ 4.1.2(1), 4.3.6, 4.5.1.
(2) There is a change in level at the entrance to the kiddie pavilion and the path is not smooth. The town avers that the threshold has been modified so that the change in level is no greater than ½ inch and beveled with a slope no greater than 1:2 and has a ramp surface that stable, firm and slip-resistant. Standards §§ 4.3.6, 4.5, 4.13.8, 4.5.2. In order to ensure that the following spaces in Town facilities, for which alterations will commence or have commenced after January 26, 1992, are readily accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities, the Town has taken or will take the following actions. Those instances where the Town avers that corrective actions were taken after the Department's April 2000 investigation, but before the effective date of this agreement, are set forth in italics.
33. The Town is renovating the adjacent buildings that house the fire and police departments in order to create a consolidated Public Safety Building and is renovating the Main Library. The Town plans to renovate the Putterham Golf Course Clubhouse, the ▇▇▇▇▇ Recreation Center and the Swimming Pool locker and shower facilities. Within 30 days after their availability, the Town will submit to the Department the architectural and site drawings for these renovations. The Department will review the drawings for conformity to the ADA Standards for Accessible Design, and the Town will renovate these buildings in compliance with the Standards. In the event that the Town's programs, services, and activities are relocated to another facility during the course of any renovations, those facilities must also be in compliance with the Standards. See 28 C.F.R. §§ 35.150(b)(1), 35.151.
