ACTING RANKS. 22.1 (A) When a member, who is a first class constable and is qualified for promotion, is assigned by the Chief of Police or his designate to assume the next higher rank above his rank, the member shall be paid, in addition to his regular salary, one-hundred (100) percent of the difference between first class constable salary and the salary for the next higher rank for the shift or portion thereof so assigned and worked. The member shall be paid for the time so assigned during each pay period on his pay cheque for the next pay period.
