Active Service. The time spent as a regular employee on the City of Milwaukee payroll including the performance of assigned duties for the City and paid time not worked. In order for paid time to count as active service for vacation purposes, such time, together with any authorized unpaid leaves of absence must be continuous from the date of appointment. Active service shall also include the time spent by an employee who takes a military leave. In the event of an employee's resignation, discharge or retirement from City employment, active service shall cease as of the employee's last day at work.
Active Service. The period of time during which an employee’s salary is maintained or during which he or she actually worked in the service of the board or boards (institutions) to which the board is the successor since his or her last hiring. Employees shall acquire one year of active service if their salary is maintained or if they actually worked for two hundred and sixty (260) days except for employees in a part-time position, in which case the calculation shall be made proportionally.
Active Service. Active service means the period of employment as a regular full- or part-time, probationary full- or part-time, or term full- or part-time Employee in any academic year, except for the following periods:
Active Service. The term “Active Service” under § 3(b) means an Employee that is working his or her typical regular schedule at the Company and not on an Approved Leave.

Active Service. Period during which a professional has received a salary from the College following a work engagement or an authorized leave with pay as provided for in this agreement, or a leave obtained under the provisions of clause 8-6.18 or 8-6.
Active Service. Any employee who enters into active service in the Armed Forces of the United States while in the employ of the Authority shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for the period of military service. The Authority will permit each employee who enters into the active service of the United States military forces to exhaust credited vacation and personal leave benefits prior to such entry.
