Affordable housing and planning. agreements A planning agreement may make provision for the development and future management of affordable housing. In such circumstances the planning agreement will include: • a definition of affordable housing for the purposes of the planning agreement; • if not in perpetuity or the life of the construction then the time period over which such housing is to meet the definition of affordable housing; • provisions for the future management of the affordable housing; • criteria for assessment of future tenants of reference to another policy of the Council which specifies such criteria; • the mechanism for ensuring the housing remains available as affordable housing; • any other matters relevant to securing the public interest in the achievement of affordable housing.
