ALL DEPARTMENTS -GARDENERS APPRENTICESHIP PROJECT. a. Employees appointed to Class 3410 Apprentice Gardener shall be compensated in relation to a Class 3417 Gardener based on actual hours worked as follows: Time in the Apprenticeship Project (Actual Hours Worked) Compensation Upon Appointment 55% of 5th Step 3417 Gardener 500 hours 60% of 5th Step 3417 Gardener 1000 hours 65% of 5th Step 3417 Gardener 1500 hours 70% of 5th Step 3417 Gardener 2000 hours 75% of 5th Step 3417 Gardener 2500 hours 80% of 5th Step 3417 Gardener 188. b. Hours spent in education courses or at on-site departmental training shall not count toward actual hours worked for purposes of advancement in compensation as delineated in section a. above. 189. c. Actual hours worked in class 3410, which comprises the length of the Gardener apprenticeship, will not exceed four thousand (4000) hours, except by approval of the appointing authority, subject to the applicable Civil Service Commission Rules.
