Floating Holidays. In addition to the authorized days in 9.2. each employee, including each academic employee, shall be authorized two (2) floating holidays of his/her choice per fiscal year.
Floating Holidays. Employees who have completed 20 weeks of continuous service in any calendar year are entitled to three floating holidays. Such days will be taken on dates mutually agreeable to the employee and the supervisor. Floating holidays must be taken in the year they are earned (i.e. there is no carryover for floating holidays). If an employee terminates after completing 20 weeks of continuous service in a calendar year, OPG will make a cash payment in lieu of any unused floating holiday credits. If an employee terminates prior to the completion of 20 weeks of continuous service in a calendar year, entitlement is as follows: • An employee not entitled to floating holidays in the previous calendar year is not entitled to floating holidays in the current calendar year. If an employee has been granted a floating holiday(s), OPG will recover one day's pay for each floating holiday taken. • For an employee entitled to floating holidays in the previous calendar year, entitlement will be prorated based on the number of weeks of continuous service in the year of termination. OPG will either make a cash payment for any unused floating holiday credit or recover the value of any unearned portion taken.

Where an employee falls sick on his/her scheduled floating holiday, that day will not be charged against his/her sick leave credits, but shall be treated as a floating holiday for pay purposes. 5. Regular and probationary employees may take their floating holiday(s) before accumulating 20 weeks' service in a calendar year. 6. E. Floating holidays are paid at the employee’s regular rate of pay, may be used in one-hour increments and are required to be scheduled and approved in advance. For Collections Employees, floating holidays may be used to supplement regularly scheduled weekly hours not to exceed forty-hours in one week. F. Employees cannot receive both floating holiday pay and regular pay for the same day. G. Floating holidays are not paid out at termination of employment, unless required by state law.
