Alternatives to working out the notice period. The Employer at its sole discretion may elect to do any combination of the following: (a) make a payment in lieu of notice (or any part of notice); (b) direct an Employee to take annual leave during the notice period (subject to applicable legislation); (c) require the Employee to undertake such alternative duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Employer, including undertaking no duties, during the notice period; or (d) require the Employee to attend work and provide all reasonable assistance in the handover of duties, files and the like for which the Employee was responsible, and/or provide assistance in the training of the Employee’s replacement.
