Appointment in a Higher Class. An EMPLOYEE who has completed a probationary period of 2080 hours of continuous service, and who is appointed to a position in a higher classification deemed to be promotive shall have his/her salary adjusted to that step in the promotive class as follows: 164. The EMPLOYEE shall receive a salary step in the promotive class which is closest to an adjustment of 7.5% above the salary received in the class from which promoted. The proper step shall be determined by the bi-weekly compensation grade and shall not be above the maximum of the salary range of the promotive class.
