Assessment Days. 1. The Employer shall provide each F.T.E. teacher, Kindergarten and Primary (Grades 1, 2, 3) with one (1) day in the first reporting period and one (1) day in the second reporting period for assessment purposes. The school based team consisting of the Principal, teacher, Local Representative and a District Representative, shall develop a plan to provide every teacher with Kindergarten and Primary (Grades 1, 2, 3) pupils with time to write assessment reports on pupils and to consult with parents.
2. The provision of two assessment days will apply to Grade 4 classes.
Assessment Days. 41.01 Each school year, two (2) Professional Activity days will be designated for the purpose of assessment and completion of report cards: one (1) prior to the first reporting period and one (1) prior to the second reporting period. No more than two (2) Professional Activity days shall be designated for the purpose of assessment and completion of report cards.
Assessment Days. 14.9.1. Teachers will be provided with one (1) assessment day per school year. The assessment day will be accessed at the choice of the teacher and the School Division will provide substitute coverage for that day. The activities during the assessment day will be directed by the teacher. At least three (3) days’ notice shall be given to the principal or in the case of a principal, to the superintendent or designate. This day shall not be combined with Article 12 or the principal / associate principal lieu days. This day will not be accessed during non- instructional days.

Should the Ministry designate additional days above the current six (6) Professional Activity Days without specifying the particular purpose for those additional days, the School Authority agrees to consult with and consider input that the Local may wish to provide regarding how those additional Professional Activity Days will be utilized.

b) Teachers shall be given the option of working at their school or at their home on the designated report card writing/assessments days. The expectation is that the teacher will be at their home during their regularly scheduled work day. The teacher shall inform the Principal of their decision at least 3 teaching days before the PA Days occur.
Assessment Days. Elementary teachers will have three (3) half days per year to complete academic reports. The first half-day will be prior to first semester conferences, the second half-day will be prior to second semester conferences, and the third half-day will be scheduled prior to the final assessment. 1st half-day - inservice 1st half-day - inservice 2nd half-day - teacher assessments 2nd half-day - teacher assessments 3rd half-day - 20-minute parent-teacher conferences available until 5 p.m. 3rd half-day - 15-minute parent- teacher conferences available until 4 p.m. 4th half-day - 20 minute parent-teacher conferences until 3:15 p.m. 4th half-day - teacher assessments prior to final report

(b) Effective 2010-11, two Professional Activity Days will be designated for the purpose of assessment and completion of report cards: one prior to the first reporting period and one prior to the second reporting period, and each day shall occur at least one (1) week and not more than three (3) weeks prior to the due date for report cards to be submitted to administration respectively.
(c) The Professional Activity Days as per (a) and (b) above, shall be used for activities related to assessment, evaluation and the completion of report cards as determined by the Teacher.
