Common use of Assignment Prohibited Clause in Contracts

Assignment Prohibited. The services to be performed by the Consultant are personal in character and no party to this agreement may assign any right or obligation under this agreement. Any attempted or purported assignment of any right or obligation under this agreement shall be void and of no effect. However, with the consent of the City given in writing, Consultant is entitled to subcontract such portions of the work to be performed under this agreement as may be specified by City.
