Athletic Directors. 1. The position of Athletic Director (AD) shall be a full-time position.
2. The AD differential shall be $8,300.
3. ADs may continue to perform and be compensated for additional duties, coaching assignments and contracted teaching assignments. ADs will be required to report to work during the educator’s duty day.
4. It is the prerogative of the principal subject to approval of the Associate Superintendent to determine if an AD will be offered coaching assignments and/or non-elected differential positions at each school site.
5. If an AD is contracted to teach on an extended contract, coach, or perform other duties and there are concerns regarding the AD’s performance and/or completion of duties for the role of the AD, the principal shall notify the AD of the concerns and that they may no longer be an AD if the concerns are not addressed. ADs will not be able to grieve the decision or change of assignment.
Athletic Directors. In consultation with head coaches can utilize assistant coach budgets to compensate coaches in amounts other than listed in appendix – not to exceed listed amounts.
Athletic Directors. Each senior high school shall have an Athletic Director. Athletic Directors shall have in their daily schedule one (1) period for Athletic Director duties and one (1) planning period. A student secretary will be assigned to the Office of the Athletic Director for three hours each workday, if students can be found for such employment.

Athletic Directors. Selection procedure for athletic directors is the same as for department chairpersons (See XI, H, 2).
Athletic Directors. 16.19.1 Each comprehensive high school shall be staffed with a 1.0 FTE athletic director with the extended days identified in Section 15.16 and the stipend identified in Schedule 23SH.
16.19.2 Athletic directors shall be allowed to flex their daily work schedules when teams or individual students participate in competitions after the completion of the KingCo. competition or other culminating event. When doing so, the total amount of daily work time will remain the same each day, supervisors must be notified in advance, and the needs of students and their families must be met.
Athletic Directors. The District will coordinate opportunities for Athletic Directors to collaborate with job alike peers. The District will communicate a clear outline of the roles and responsibilities of Athletic Directors at the middle and high school levels. The District will first offer vacant AD positions to LWEA bargaining unit members before posting for external candidates. A pool of 300 hours of clerical support will be created to support middle school Athletic Directors. Schools can use these hours to support peak time needs. The District will determine and communicate a formula for the equitable allocation of these hours to middle schools. Each comprehensive high school will receive an allocation of four-thousand, five- hundred dollars ($4,500), and each choice high school an allocation of one-thousand dollars ($1,000), for the purpose of providing support for the coordination of school- based testing for Advanced Placement (AP), PSAT, PE Assessment and other school- based test coordination as determined by each school. Pay will be at the timecard rate. In addition, each high school will receive an allocation of two-thousand dollars ($2,000), and each choice high school an allocation of one-thousand dollars ($1,000), for the purpose of providing support for the coordination of the College Board and ACT for Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) tasks for AP, PSAT and other testing as determined by each school. Pay will be at the time card rate.
Athletic Directors. Each athletic director shall be paid as outlined below. Release time for the High School Athletic Director will be defined as minimum 1/2 of the teaching day, not including prep time.
Athletic Directors. Increase extended contract days by 5 days. (Currently the ADs have 195 contracted days, and that would increase to 200 contracted days.)
Athletic Directors. Primary Responsibilities: • Closely monitor official COVID-19 guidance from district, county, and state authorities in order to plan and orchestrate athletic activities (practices or competitions). • Effectively communicate with community/parents/students about athletic participation and timelines. • Effectively communicate with all coaches in a timely manner regarding any changes to protocols and, ensuring that all guidelines are followed. • Supporting attendance intervention and monitoring and supporting athletic teams, programs, and athletes. • Maintain records of academic progress of athletes. In collaboration with administration and the Athletic Director, other options and areas of support may be: • Distribution/collection of textbooks and other materials and supplies • Supporting programmatic needs (such as CTE) • Develop Advocacy/SEL lessons • Supporting attendance intervention and student connectedness • Student progress monitoring/family communication • Support teachers • Additional support for English Learners • Other supports for students who are struggling • Support IYT (Improve Your Tomorrow) • Other actions that may draw upon the unique strengths of each individual Athletic Director.
