Member States shall each promote the establishment of national authorised economic operators (AEO) programmes to enhance the security of the supply chain and facilitate trade based on the SAFE Framework. The customs authorities of Member States shall endeavour to develop mechanisms of cooperation with a view to promoting mutual recognition of AEO status and customs controls.
