Banked Sick Leave (Under. Previously Exercised Option) This section refers to sick leave which has been “banked” in accordance with this Labor Agreement as it was in effect on June 30, 2009, or banked pursuant to Agreements previously in effect. It excludes sick leave electively converted to PERS-creditable sick leave pursuant to paragraph C above. It includes sick leave for which a banking election was made during the 2008 or earlier option periods. Banked sick leave, as defined above, will be preserved in a separate account for use by the employee in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Agreement in effect on June 30, 2009, including the following:

Sick leave hours banked will be paid at the employee’s base rate of pay, effective on the employee’s date of death or retirement/termination from District’s employment. Employees who experience an illness/injury and exhaust their existing sick leave that is available, may utilize sick leave that was previously banked in accordance with the Labor Agreement in effect June 30, 2009 provided they make a written request to do so through their Department Manager at the time of the illness/injury and the circumstances qualify for sick leave.

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

These two hundred and forty (240) hours of sick leave may be advanced to an employee with a medical emergency related to the adoption of a child, for family care or bereavement purposes, or to care for a family member with a serious health condition.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.

  • Accrued Sick Leave The Board shall provide all employees with a cumulative record 23 of accrued sick leave hours on each pay statement.

  • Sick Leave Payoff Employee with accrued, unused sick leave may, at the time of separation, select one of the following options for reimbursement:

  • Sick Leave Usage A. Sick leave may be used for an employee or an employee's child, spouse or parent's illness or injury, hospitalization and appointment pertaining to health.

  • Sick Leave Accrual Full-time employees will accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave in a calendar month. Part- time employees will accrue sick leave credit on the same proportional basis that their employment schedule bears to a full-time schedule, up to a maximum of eight (8) hours in a calendar month.
