BASIC ENGINEERING SERVICES. The PROFESSIONAL shall provide the Basic Engineering Services as follows. 1. PROJECT ADMINISTRATION a. Monthly progress reports. b. Monthly billing reports. c. Project coordination for engineering with internal staff and the CLIENT. d. Project design review with the CLIENT of the preliminary plans submitted on April 1, 2020, and the Check Plans. e. Two meetings with the CLIENT to review the project plans, construction details, construction staging, and project schedule. f. Franchise utility coordination for utility relocations needed prior to construction commencing. g. Submit pre-construction documents to the CLIENT per the City of Ankeny submittal requirements.

BASIC ENGINEERING SERVICES. 1. Wet-Weather Facility (WWF) Improvements - Study Phase A. Evaluate improvements to the existing WWF to increase storage, improve operations and performance, and reduce CSO discharges. It is anticipated the improvements will have an estimated construction cost under $1 million. 1. Potential improvements identified include the following: a. Replace effluent flow meter with new AV meter located in the outfall line b. Chlorine mixing improvements c. Raise interior tank walls and CSO screens (approximately 2 feet) d. CSO Screen improvements i. Improved method for removal of screenings to minimize screen blinding ii. Potential replacement of screens B. Prepare for and conduct a kick-off meeting with the Owner to confirm the Owner’s objectives and the Engineer’s approach. This meeting will be used to clarify responsibilities and how information exchange will be managed between the Owner and Engineer, exchange and discuss ideas and concepts, and will provide both parties the opportunity to discuss planning related issues. C. Review of applicable previous reports, engineering record drawings, shop drawings, specifications, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, and design summaries related to the WWF. D. Prepare preliminary cost opinions for the alternatives identified and recommended improvements. E. Summarize the results of the evaluation in a bound report which will include the following: 1. Description of the need and purpose for the Study. 2. Description of the current situation and alternatives evaluated. 3. Description of the improvements needed.
BASIC ENGINEERING SERVICES. 6.01.1 Our fee for Basic Engineering Services described in Section 2.0 shall be the stipulated sum of fourteen thousand ($14,000) dollars. A breakdown of that fee follows: Project Phase Construction Documents $10,500 Construction Administration $3,500 6.01.2 Project related expenses include those items indicated on the attached Schedule of Reimbursable Expense Rates and similar items as appropriate and necessary to provide the services related to your Project. Project related expenses shall be reimbursed at 1.15 times costs/rates indicated on the attached Schedule of Reimbursable Expense Rates and are in addition to our Basic Engineering Service fee. 6.01.3 Our fee for Basic Engineering Services described in Section 2.0 is based on the entire Project completion by December 31, 2017. Should the Project be delayed or extended beyond the stated date, the Engineer shall be afforded the opportunity to increase stated fees and fee schedules to account for changes in salaries and other related costs.

A breakdown of that fee follows: Construction Documents $13,000 Bidding and Award $1,500 Construction Administration $5,000 6.01.2 Project related expenses include those items indicated on the attached Schedule of Reimbursable Expense Rates and similar items as appropriate and necessary to provide the services related to your Project. Project related expenses shall be reimbursed at 1.15 times costs/rates indicated on the attached Schedule of Reimbursable Expense Rates and are in addition to our Basic Engineering Service fee.

BASIC ENGINEERING SERVICES. A. CONSULTANT shall provide engineering consulting services for various CITY projects, as more particularly described in the authorized Service Order. The authorized Service Order may include any of the specific engineering tasks set forth below in Section 3. The authorized Service Order may also include any other engineering services described and agreed to be performed by CONSULTANT, including, but not limited to, the following: 1. Input regarding performance, operations, or maintenance issues at the RWF and identification of potential projects to resolve those concerns; and 2. Preparation of feasibility studies or scoping documents to define projects to evaluate, select, design, and implement improvements to the RWF. B. In addition to any specific services (described below in Section 3) that CONSULTANT must provide as part of each authorized Service Order, CONSULTANT shall perform any other general engineering consulting services specified in the authorized Service Order. The following shall apply to such general services: 1. CONSULTANT shall be responsible for providing thorough engineering consulting services in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. All engineering services shall be conducted in conformance with applicable California state law. 2. CONSULTANT shall meet with the Project Manager at the CITY offices to discuss the project details. CONSULTANT shall be made aware of the project description, location, schedule of deliverables, and requirements. CONSULTANT and CITY shall agree on the terms of the Service Order, including the specific tasks to be performed, the schedule for deliverables, and compensation. 3. After approval of Service Order and upon receipt of an authorized Service Order, CONSULTANT shall visit project site to note existing conditions, collect data, locate utilities, and familiarize himself/herself with the surrounding area. CONSULTANT shall make note of any issues that may need to be addressed in fulfilling the service request.
