Benefits Options. Residents appointed at least 50% FTE (full-time equivalent) for a minimum of six consecutive months and who receive a monthly salary/stipend are eligible for insurance through the Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) through the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA). Insurance consists of:  Medical insurance: University and Resident share the cost of insurance premiums  Dental insurance: Premiums fully paid by UW  Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance: Basic insurance provided at no cost, with option to purchase addition coverage  Long-term disability (LTD) insurance: There are two LTD insurance options for residents.
