BOX COVER. 4.86.8.1 The Contractor shall furnish and install a new steel cover and rubber gasket to replace a missing, defective, or broken cover on a roadway type pull box. 4.86.8.2 The replacement cover shall have the same dimensions and physical characteristics as that cover being replaced, and shall be 1/2" thick. 4.86.8.3 The Contractor shall drill and tap four (4) holes at the corners of the existing box to accommodate the replacement cover, as part of this Item. 4.86.8.4 Steel boxes and the new steel covers shall be painted in an approved manner with two (2) coats of approved paint. 4.86.8.5 All approved markings and tags shall be maintained at their original approved locations. The Contractor shall weld “NYCE” to all replacement covers. 4.86.8.6 All replacement screws shall be tamper-proof in counter sunk holes.
