Break in Continuous Service. An employee's continuous service record shall be broken by voluntary resignation, discharge and retirement. Upon return to work after time lost which does not constitute a break in continuous service, the employee's length of continuous service shall not be affected and the employee shall receive the same fringe benefits as would have been received had employment time not been lost.
