Building Use – Classified Personnel. A custodian must be on duty whenever a building is open to a group that is unrelated to the school. The assignment for any other group will be at the discretion of the administration after consultation with the custodian rep. A cafeteria employee must be on duty whenever a kitchen or kitchen equipment is to be used by a group that is unrelated to the school. The assignment for any other group will be at the discretion of the administration. Cafeteria employees shall not be responsible for loss of supplies or loss/damage to equipment occurring when unsupervised groups use the kitchen facilities. Whenever it is necessary for a custodian to work overtime for non-school connected activities other than his/her regularly scheduled hours, an additional charge shall be made. This rate shall be an amount equivalent to one and one-half (1 ½) times the custodian’s hourly rate of pay. There shall be a minimum charge of four (4) hours at the above rate for programs on Saturday or Sunday. Preparation for and clean-up following such programs shall not be done during the regular work hours for custodial employees. Whenever it is necessary for cafeteria employees to work other than regularly scheduled hours, an additional charge shall be made for non-school connected activities. The rate shall be made for non-school connected activities. The rate shall be an amount equivalent to one and one-half (1 ½) times the cafeteria worker’s hourly rate of pay.
