Carrying Laptops. A protective case must be provided for the laptop, having sufficient padding to protect the laptop from normal treatment and provide a suitable means for carrying the computer. The guidelines below should be followed along with common sense: Laptops should always be within a protective case when carried, including between classes. Some carrying cases can hold other objects (such as folder and workbooks), but these must be kept to a minimum to avoid placing too much pressure and weight on the laptop screen. The laptop must be turned off before placing it in the carrying case. Do not store the laptops with the power cord or external devices still attached. This will damage the ports. Bags containing the laptop should never be “thrown” or “tossed”. A bag will be provided for any student unable to provide their own.
