Carrying Laptops. A protective case is required for the laptop, having sufficient padding to protect the unit from normal treatment and provide a suitable means for carrying the device. Students are required to provide their own laptop bag. The guidelines below should be followed along with common sense: Laptops should always be in the protective case when carried, including between classes. Some carrying cases can hold other objects (such as folder and workbooks), but these must be kept to a minimum to avoid placing too much pressure and weight on the laptop screen. The laptop must be turned off before placing it in the carrying case. Bags containing the laptop should never be “thrown” or “tossed”. Students are expected keep the laptop in an appropriate padded case unless the laptop is in use.
