Categories of Achievement. The successful candidate must establish an area of excellence in either the teaching or scholarly and research activity categories, while meeting the minima in the other two categories, or establish a broad level of competence by meeting the stated criteria for broad competence in all three categories. All the judgements called for in this section are to be made by the CAPT on the recommendation of the external assessors, selected according to the provisions of the Agreement. The primary role of external assessors is to provide a disciplinary and inter- institutional perspective and to advise on questions of equivalence from such a perspective.
