Certifications and endorsements a. Up to a maximum of 3 Utility Workers III’s in Distribution and Maintenance Division (DMD) shall receive $300.00 per month when certified to operate the District’s boom truck crane. The District will send one Utility Worker III per fiscal year for boom truck crane operator certification until a maximum of three Utility Worker III’s are certified. No additional staff will be sent for certification until a vacancy arises and less than three Utility Worker III’s are certified. Only one staff will be sent per fiscal year regardless of successful completion of certification. No more than three Utility Worker III’s will receive certification pay at any given time. Staff must be in active employment status to receive certification. Staff on long-term leave, longer than two weeks in duration, will not receive the certification pay. Non-DMD employees who are crane certified and utilize equipment requiring the certification regularly during the course of their job duties, will receive $200.00 per month while maintaining the crane certification. The $200.00 per month will terminate when the employee separates from the District or the crane certification expires.
b. Employees who possess a tanker endorsement and are assigned to operate the Vacuum Excavation Truck (Vac Truck) will receive a 4.5% differential for each shift worked. The District will make the primary assignment to the Vac Truck based upon seniority.
