CGIAR Structure. 3.1 The CGIAR is characterized by two reinforcing pillars: (i) on the CGIAR Funders side coordinated through the CGIAR Fund, and (ii) on the CGIAR Doers side coordinated through the Consortium. The organizational structure of the CGIAR Fund consists of the following: Fund Council, Fund Office, Trustee, and Funders Forum. 3.2 On the CGIAR Doers side, the CGIAR Fund structure is complemented by the following entities responsible for management and implementation of SRF research: Consortium, governed by a Board of Directors, and Centers. 3.3 The dual structure rests on the respective collective undertakings and responsibilities of the Fund Council and the Consortium, particularly with respect to the use, allocation and oversight of funds from the CGIAR Fund, and is expected to be joined through various bridging mechanisms, including: SRF, ISPC, Common Operational Framework, M&E Framework, IEA, GCARD, CGIAR Principles, Contractual arrangements between the Consortium and the Fund Council (as applicable, through their respective representative legal entities) and/or Trustee for the receipt and use of funds from the CGIAR Fund to operationalize the SRF, and Common dispute resolution mechanism for the CGIAR.
