Chemical industry. The chemical industry has developed a pipeline of potential capital- intensive projects with a varying degree of certainty in terms of proceeding to investment stage. The total investment over the next five years is estimated at R10 billion. A number of potential constraints to the successful implementation of investment projects have been identified. In order jointly to seek ways to overcome these constraints the industry proposes that execution of one project be used as the basis for developing a "best practice" model that can be applied to the sector.
