If severance pay is granted because of the death of an employee, the severance pay shall be paid to the employee's estate. 18.05 No Pyramiding of Pay 18.06 Timing Receipt of Severance Pay or Retiring Pay (a) An employee eligible for severance pay or retiring pay may elect to immediately receive such pay or defer receipt until the beginning of the next calendar year, provided the next calendar year is within the same fiscal year that the amount is payable.
