CLASS OR CLASSIFICATION. A group of positions sufficiently similar in duties, responsibilities and authority that the same job title, minimum qualifications, and salary range are appropriate for all positions in the class. The classifications are as follows: • Engineering (utility engineer, maintenance engineer, senior maintenance engineer, and chief maintenance engineer) • Grounds keeping (grounds keeper and lead grounds keeper) • Custodial (custodian and lead custodian)
CLASS OR CLASSIFICATION. ‌ 22.1.1 A group of positions sufficiently similar in duties and responsibilities that the same descriptive title may be used to designate each position allocated to the class; substantially the same requirements of education, experience, knowledge, and ability are demanded of incumbents; substantially the same tests of fitness may be used in choosing qualified appointees; and the same salary range may be applied with equity, except as otherwise provided in this Agreement.
CLASS OR CLASSIFICATION. A description of the position or group of positions distinguished by prerequisite qualifications, necessary experience, level of competency in performance of duties, scope of responsibility, or by the nature of the duties themselves, such that the given position(s) constitute a distinct job measurably and definably different from any other.
CLASS OR CLASSIFICATION. A grouping of duties and responsibilities that is distinguished from other groupings. A classification is used to differentiate positions into a category of work utilizing the same title and job description (class specification) established at a given salary level. When a group of positions have essentially the same duties and level of responsibility they are allocated to the same classification.

  • New Classifications If a new classification is created within the bargaining unit, the Employer agrees to meet with the Union and negotiate a rate of pay for this new classification. If the parties cannot reach agreement, at the request of either party, the matter shall be submitted to the arbitration procedure in Article 26 of this Agreement.

  • JOB CLASSIFICATIONS 32.01 Employees holding positions which fall within the Bargaining Unit shall be provided with a job description upon written or email request. 32.02 New job classifications properly included in this Collective Agreement may be established by the Employer during the term of the Collective Agreement. Basic hourly rates of pay for such new job classifications shall be negotiated with the Union. If negotiations fail to produce an agreement within sixty (60) calendar days of the date of written notice from the Employer to the Union regarding the new job classification, then the basic hourly rates of pay may be settled through arbitration in accordance with clause 14.04(d).
