Work in a Higher Classification. Any employee who is assigned by his/her supervisor to a vacant position in a higher grade for a period of more than thirty (30) days shall receive the salary rate for the higher position from the first day of the appointment, provided such assignment has the prior approval in writing of the Appointing Authority or his/her designee. The approval of the Appointing Authority or his/her designee shall take effect as of the first day of the assignment. Any assignment to a vacant position in a higher grade must be in writing to be valid.
Work in a Higher Classification. An employee who is designated by the appropriate supervisor to perform temporarily a major portion of duties of a position in a higher classification than the employee's current classification shall be eligible for a pay increase for the period of time such duties are assigned, provided that such duties are performed for a period of more than twenty-two (22) workdays within any six (6) consecutive months.
Work in a Higher Classification. Any employee who is assigned by his/her Appointing Authority to a vacant position in a higher grade for a period of more than thirty (30) days shall receive the salary rate for the higher position from the first day of the appointment, provided such appointment is made pursuant to Civil Service law when applicable.
Work in a Higher Classification. A. Any employee who is assigned by the CEO to a vacant position in a higher grade for five (5) consecutive days or more, shall receive the salary rate at the first step of the higher classification from the first date of the appointment. However, if such assigned employee’s regular rate of compensation is higher, the compensation shall be computed at the step of the higher classification which is closest to the employee’s regular compensation and provides at least one promotion factor of the higher classification over the employee’s regular rate of compensation. Whenever any employee is assigned to any vacant higher rated position he/she shall no later than the tenth (10th) working day of his/her performance of the higher rated position’s duties complete and transmit to his/her supervisor the form attached (Appendix D). The supervisor shall thereupon complete the applicable portion of the form and transmit the same to the CEO who shall thereupon determine whether the work assignment is or is not out of title work. This section shall not apply to an employee assuming the duties of someone on authorized vacation leave of up to ten (10) consecutive workdays.
B. An employee who is assigned by the CEO to perform overtime work in a higher classification shall have overtime compensation computed at the first step rate of the higher classification, unless the employee’s regular rate of compensation is higher, in which case the overtime compensation shall be computed at the employee’s regular rate of compensation.
Work in a Higher Classification. Any employee who performs work in a higher paid classification for two (2) or more hours (except for rest periods and meal relief) shall be paid at a rate based on the time worked in each classification.
Work in a Higher Classification. 12 Whenever an employee must be replaced by another employee(s) for a period 13 of four (4) shifts within a thirty (30) day period and such employee(s) assigned to 14 perform the work is normally assigned to work in a lower classification, that 15 employee(s) will be paid for all shifts worked at the rate assigned to the higher 16 classification in the appropriate step according to the promotional policy, if the 18 classification. Provided, further, however, that the amount of payment for acting as 19 temporary supervisor shall be in accordance with existing practice.
Work in a Higher Classification. A. Any employee who is assigned by his/her Appointing Authority to a vacant position in a higher grade for a period of more than thirty (30) days shall receive the salary rate for the higher position from the first day of the appointment, provided such appointment is made pursuant to Civil Service law when applicable. Where the Appointing Authority anticipates that said assignment shall be for a period of more than thirty (30) days, the Appointing Authority or his/her designee shall provide the employee with written notice of the assignment to the vacancy, as soon after the beginning of the assignment as is administratively feasible.
B. The Employer shall not utilize the provisions of this Section to circumvent the provisions of Article 14 of this Agreement.
C. The provisions of paragraph B of this Section shall not be subject to the arbitration provisions of Article 23 and Article 23A of this Agreement.
Work in a Higher Classification. Any teacher required to work in a higher classification for more than ten (10) consecutive days or fifteen (15) cumulative days during the school year shall be paid at their current rate or at the base rate of the position to which the teacher is assigned in the higher classification, whichever is higher, for the duration of such assignment. Any teacher required to work in a higher classification as per the provisions of this Section shall be considered to remain a member of this bargaining unit for all purposes, except for the amount of the base salary for the time that the teacher is required to work in a said higher classification.
Work in a Higher Classification. An employee who is designated by the appropriate Xxxx or Director in writing to temporarily serve in a higher classification shall be eligible for a pay increase for the time period in accordance with university policy.
Work in a Higher Classification. Any employee who is assigned by his/her supervisor to a position in a higher grade for a period of more than thirty days shall receive the salary rate for the higher position from the first day of assignment, provided such assignment has the prior approval in writing of the appointing authority or his/her designee. In the event authorization is granted or payment is awarded for out-of-title work, no payment shall be made for any period prior to fifty-one days from the date the grievance was filed unless the assignment was in writing. This Article shall not apply to working in a higher grade when the holder of the higher grade is absent on vacation leave. A Committee shall be established consisting of 3 members designated by HRD and 3 members designated by MOSES. Said Committee shall investigate incidents where out-of- title work has exceeded 12 months, shall develop procedures to limit the duration of out-of- title work, and shall require the proper posting of a position in the higher grade in lieu of such continued out-of-title assignment.
