Common use of Classes Other than University Classes Clause in Contracts

Classes Other than University Classes. In place of tuition, for one class per semester at the First Nations University or the University of Xxxxxx, the employer may pay tuition, and course fees for other classes at another post-secondary institution provided the First Nations University or University of Xxxxxx does not offer an equivalent course, and it is mutually beneficial to the employee and the employer. The employee may apply to the supervisor outlining the course, fees, dates, times and any other relevant information about the course during the semester before the class is scheduled to begin and must be approved or denied within 14 days of the submitted request. Should the request not be approved, the supervisor shall provide a written explanation to the employee with a copy to the Human Resources Department.
