Common use of Classification Grievances Clause in Contracts

Classification Grievances. An employee shall have the right to file a grievance on the classification of the position they occupy. Such a grievance shall be in accordance with the provisions of Article 8—Grievances, of this agreement. (a) If an employee believes that the position they occupy is improperly classified, they shall file a grievance and request a current written job description which shall be provided within 30 days of the request. Such job descriptions shall be consistent with the employee's assigned duties. (b) The employee and their immediate supervisor will review the job description and identify in writing any areas where the job description is not consistent with the assigned duties. (c) If the employee believes that the position they occupy is improperly classified, the employee shall further the grievance to the next step of the grievance procedure.
