COLLEGE INCENTIVE Clause Samples
The College Incentive clause establishes a reward or benefit for individuals who pursue or complete higher education, typically within the context of an employment or scholarship agreement. This clause may specify financial bonuses, tuition reimbursement, or other incentives provided upon enrollment in or graduation from a college or university. Its core practical function is to encourage educational advancement by offering tangible support or motivation, thereby fostering a more skilled and qualified workforce or recipient group.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE. The Employer will reimburse out of pocket tuition cost only for college accredited courses to a maximum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per Employee per fiscal year, capped at a total of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) for the Bargaining Unit per fiscal year. This college reimbursement shall be paid for a grade C or above only. Requests for college reimbursement shall be made within twenty-one (21) calendar days after completion of the course. The date of submission for the reimbursement shall be used in determining eligibility for payment. Request for college reimbursement shall be for Fire Science courses or related fields only.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE. The Town is committed to the continuing education and professional development of its Police Officers. The Town recognizes, accepts, and agrees with the concept of continuing education and professional development of employees where it directly relates to the Police Officer’s job. The Town shall pay up front for the cost of tuition, books and supplies, for causes of continuing education provided the following: work status improvement, lead to a degree of certificate used in the work place, a general course of study providing educational credits in work related courses of studies. Upon completion of the course with a passing grade of no less than a “C”, and upon submission of other approved receipts of other approved costs, reimbursement will be complete. All courses shall be first approved by the Mayor and Council. If for any reason this paid course is dropped by the employee or the employee fails to pass the course, full restitution by the employee to the Town of Hammonton must be made. In no instance will more than $750.00 per police officer per year be reimbursed. These courses shall be taken, whenever possible, so as not to conflict with regular working schedules. Every effort shall be made by the Chief of Police to make any necessary schedule changes so that said courses can be taken. A Police Officer shall not have any days deducted for any time spent in taking prior approved courses for the course of their work. The Town shall pay for licenses, if those licenses are required for the Police officer’s employment. Any Police Officer completing a course for a degree, which degree enhances the Police Officer’s capacity to perform services for the Town, shall be compensated as follows: Associates Degree $500.00 Bachelor’s Degree $1,000.00 In the event that any Federal or State Legislation, governmental regulation, or court decision causes invalidation of any Article or Section of this contract, all other Articles and Sections not so invalidated shall remain in full force and effect, and the parties shall negotiate concerning any such invalidated provisions.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE. Employees covered hereunder shall be compensated at a rate of three dollars ($3.00) per college credit hour per year for college courses, subject to a maximum of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per year. All courses required or necessary as prerequisites for any degree in fire- related fields shall be accepted credit hours. All payments shall be based on the number of hours an employee has successfully completed on the first day of July and shall be payable in their first pay period in December of that calendar year. All credits shall be turned in by November 1 to the Chief. A firefighter who achieves a bachelors degree in a fire-related field will be paid an additional $150.00 above the pay for the Associate degree. In addition to the above, an additional one hundred dollars ($100.00) per year will be granted to any employee who obtains his/her Associate degree in a fire-related field.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE. Any Employee who has successfully earned a degree from an accredited college will receive an educational incentive bonus in accordance with the pay scale in Table 16.1-1 TABLE 16.1-1 To receive the annual educational incentive bonus, the Employee must have twelve (12) months service time with the Beavercreek Township Fire Department and show proof of degree. Employees with multiple degrees will receive the educational incentive bonus for the highest degree only. This payment will be made annually in the first paycheck in December.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE. Since the Sheriff and County recognize the value of trained employees, they hereby agree to pay any employee covered by this Agreement fifty dollars ($50.00) per college credit obtained while in the Sheriff’s employ. Such credit must be from an accredited college in a course that will be of value to the person in the performance of his or her work. The County shall not provide any college incentive for life experience credits earned as a result of training paid for/provided by the County. No employee shall receive in excess of $1,800 of additional annual compensation pursuant to this Article, except those employees who are earning in excess of this amount as of January 1, 2011, including those who are promoted into the negotiations unit at any time during the term of this Agreement, shall not have the amount of their compensation under this Article diminished. In such case, the college incentive will be limited to the amount earned of January 1, 2011. Beginning on January 1, 2011, payment is contingent on the successful completion of the course with the employee receiving a grade of “C” or higher.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE. Effective January 1, 2010, employees who are first class firefighters will be eligible for College Incentive Pay. Fire-related Associate’s Degree: 1.5% of first class firefighter pay Bachelor’s Degree: 3% of first class firefighter pay College incentive pay will be based on transcripts from accredited colleges or universities provided by the employee. The HR Department will have final approval oversight of all transcripts. The transcript and approval will be placed in each employee’s personnel file.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE. Section 1: The Employer and Union agree that those bargaining unit members who currently have, or subsequently obtain, the following college degrees shall receive the following additional. compensation on or before July 1st of each calendar year. Associate Degree $150.00 Bachelor Degree $250.00 Masters Degree $350.00 The Associate and Bachelor Degrees shall be in a law enforcement related field. The Masters Degree shall be in the area of administration.
COLLEGE INCENTIVE. New hires shall provide documentation evidencing their college degree to the Department either through the hiring process or to the training academy upon hire. Officers who obtain degrees after their date of hire with the Department shall provide documentation evidencing their college degree to the Chief’s office. The following college incentive pay shall be added to the monthly salary of each qualified sworn officer after such officer’s completion of their probationary period: College Degree Achieved or Hours Earned from Accredited College Acquisition of 12 credit hours in $ 50.00 Courses enrolled in after 1-1-87 which are required toward a law enforcement degree or acquisition of 47 such hours by new hires of the Department who graduate from the KCK Police Academy after 1-1-90, provided that hours obtained during in-service training after 12-31-2008 shall not be counted toward the required number of hours. Associates of Arts or Sciences $ 100.00 Bachelor of Arts or Sciences $ 125.00 Master of Arts or Sciences $ 155.00

COLLEGE INCENTIVE. A. Employees hired prior to March 31, 2000 shall have added to his base Associate’s Degree 1.5 percent total Bachelor’s Degree 3.0 percent total Master’s Degree 4.0 percent total Doctorate Degree 5.0 percent total Said amounts shall be included in base salary for all purposes. Such payment shall be pro-rated during the first and last years’ service.
B. Employees hired after March 31, 2000 shall receive a flat dollar incentive according to the following schedule, which shall not be a part of the base salary: Associate’s Degree $450 Bachelor Degree $900 Master Degree $1,200 Doctorate $1,550 Each employee shall receive an educational incentive payment in the sum of $175.00 per year payable no later than August 1st of each year which shall be pro-rated during the first, last year of service and any leave of absence.
