Combined Postings. a. When a permanent or temporary part-time posted vacancy is not filled from within the bargaining unit, the most senior interested bargaining unit member in the department concerned may add the posted vacancy or a portion thereof to her own where no conflict exists with shifts in her posted schedule. The rationale of this Article is to increase the size of postings of existing bargaining unit members if they desire prior to offering shifts to personnel outside the bargaining unit. Notwithstanding the above, a combined posting must meet and support all other Article in the Collective Agreement. b. If this combines two (2) permanent postings, a new posting is created, and if vacated, is subject to the provisions of this Collective Agreement. c. If the employee wished to amend the new posting, the following provisions apply: i. Twelve (12) months must have passed since the combination; ii. The employee may either drop her original posting or the added position, but not portions of one or the other; iii. Dropping a portion of a posting (per (ii) above) is permanent and the employee has no right to reclaim except by the procedure in Article 10.07(a).
