JOB POSTING AND VACANCIES. The Employer values internal promotion and the opportunity to provide career opportunities to existing employees within the organization. When a job opening occurs within the bargaining unit, the Employer will follow this procedure:
1) All vacant positions shall be posted in a designated place for all employees to read for a period of five (5) consecutive working days, excluding Saturday, Sunday and holidays, including classification, location, shift, job description, and rate of pay. Lists of all job openings will be updated and posted weekly.
2) Before considering applications from employees outside the bargaining unit, the Employer shall consider applications from bargaining unit employees.
3) In selecting among qualified applicants, the Employer shall consider both seniority and ability as follows:
a. In the case of lateral transfers, the employee with the greatest
b. In the case of promotions, the employee with the greatest seniority shall be selected unless the ability of one of the applicants is appreciably superior to the others.
4) If the vacancy remains unfilled after the Employer has followed the procedures of 1, 2 and 3(a) and 3(b) and after the Employer has offered the position to any other employees who have claims to the position under provisions of this Agreement, the Employer may fill the vacancy from outside the bargaining unit.
5) If an applicant transfers into a new job classification and management determines, during his or her first forty-five (45) calendar days on the new job that he or she cannot satisfactorily perform the functions of the new job, he or she shall return to the former job without loss of seniority or other benefits. To be considered for a job opening, an employee must complete an application and submit it to the Employer within the posting period. If the Employer is unable to transfer an employee to a vacant position due to patient care considerations, the position may be filled on a temporary basis and the employee will be notified in writing as to when the transfer will be expected to occur. All transfers will be made within ninety (90) days. In the event the Employer requires job bidding to be online or by email exclusively, the Employer will make an onsite computer available to employees to make their bid. Temporary transfers between work sites or programs may occur on a mutually agreeable basis for a period of up to ninety (90) days.
JOB POSTING AND VACANCIES. 22.1 The EMPLOYER and the UNION agree that regular job vacancies within the designated bargaining unit shall be filled based on the concept of promotion from within, provided that applicants:
A. Have the necessary qualifications to meet the standards of the job vacancy; and
B. Have the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job vacancy.
22.2 Employees filling a higher job class based on the provisions of the Article shall be subject to the conditions of Article IX.
JOB POSTING AND VACANCIES. 9.01 The Employer shall post all permanent job vacancies and any temporary vacancies that are expected to be or have been vacated for a period of six (6) weeks or longer within seven (7) calendar days of the vacancy. The posting shall include:
a. whether the position is full-time, part-time or temporary;
b. a job description;
JOB POSTING AND VACANCIES. A. Employer shall make every effort, when appointing provisional promotions, to select from the job classifications immediately below the position to be filled.
B. When the Employer creates a new job within this bargaining unit or a vacancy occurs, prior to any public advertisement the Employer shall notify the Union and shall promptly post the job for bid on appropriate bulletin boards. All notices shall contain pertinent information concerning the job, including salary range, and shall remain posted for six (6) working days. Thereupon the bids shall be closed and the job awarded on the basis of ability to perform the job. When two or more employees are equally qualified to perform the job seniority shall be given due consideration.
C. In the event that a bargaining unit member applies for a vacant position and is rejected or is not chosen from an existing Department of Personnel list, the County upon written request will provide the applicant, within a reasonable time, an oral statement of reasons for not placing said employee in the vacant position.
D. Current employees shall be given the opportunity to transfer to a new or different shift or job location. All employees requesting and receiving lateral transfers shall receive no loss in pay.
E. The determination of abilities and qualifications of an employee shall be made by the Employer.
F. Management shall present to and discuss with an employee, at their request, with and in the presence of the Union representative, the reasons for selecting an employee of lesser seniority.
G. The County will endeavor to notify the Union within a reasonable period of time regarding vacancies not to be filled.
JOB POSTING AND VACANCIES. 16.1 A joint committee of Union and management personnel shall meet and develop the minimum requirements for each position in the bargaining unit. This committee shall have equal representation.
16.2 A vacancy exists and will be posted when:
16.2.1 A new classification or job is created.
16.2.2 An employee retires, dies, or quits.
16.2.3 An employee is rightfully discharged.
16.2.4 An employee is transferred.
16.2.5 An employee is granted a leave of absence exceeding sixty (60) working days.
16.2.6 Notwithstanding the foregoing or any provision in Article 14, whenever a teacher assistant is displaced during the school year the District shall have the right to reassign the displaced employee for the remainder of the school year; provided, they maintain the employee’s hours.
16.2.7 When a teacher assistant vacancy occurs during the school year the District will post the vacancy. The District may fill the resulting vacancy with a substitute or a new hire for the remainder of the school year.
JOB POSTING AND VACANCIES. When filling any vacancy, the Employer shall give preference to qualified applicants in the following order of preference:
JOB POSTING AND VACANCIES. 9.01 When filling any vacancy, the Employer shall consider the skill and ability of the applicant. Where these are relatively equal in the opinion of the Employer, seniority shall govern.
9.02 The Employer shall post all permanent job vacancies within seven (7) calendar days of the vacancy. The Employer shall post any temporary vacancy that is greater than thirty (30) hours biweekly and is expected to be or has been vacant for a period of five (5) weeks or longer. The posting will include:
a. whether the position is full-time, part-time or temporary;
b. a job description;
JOB POSTING AND VACANCIES. 5.01 The Employer will immediately post all permanent job vacancies and any temporary vacancies that are expected to be for a period of four (4) weeks or longer. The vacancy will be posted for three (3) calendar days. The Employer will notify any employee not scheduled in those three days of the posting. Applicants must apply in writing within this time period. The posting will include:
a. Classification
b. Department
c. Starting date of the position
d. Qualifications required
e. Anticipated duration of a temporary position
f. Shift to be worked and the approximate number of shifts per pay period.
5.02 When filling a job vacancy, the Employer will consider:
a. Skill, qualifications and ability
b. Seniority in the posted classification
c. Seniority in the bargaining unit
5.03 A vacancy created by a posting shall not be subject to more than one (1) further posting arising from the original posting. However, the procedure and criteria for replacement will be the same.
a. Any full-time employee who wishes to transfer to part-time, or any part-time employee who wishes to transfer to a different classification, is required to notify the Administrator in writing.
b. No employee shall permanently fill a vacant position until that vacancy has been posted and an employee has applied for the position.
c. If extra hours are added to the schedule, the Employer will endeavour to offer the additional time to the most senior qualified employees subject to staffing and scheduling requirements.
JOB POSTING AND VACANCIES. 7.01 The Employer will post all permanent job vacancies and any temporary vacancies that are expected to be for a period of eight (8) weeks or longer. For vacancies fewer than 8 weeks in duration, the hours in question shall be offered to the most senior employee working fewer than 75 hours per two week pay period provided that the additional hours do not result in the employee working more than 75 hours per two week pay period. If the employee refuses all or part of these hours, the hours shall be distributed to employees on the call-in
JOB POSTING AND VACANCIES. A. All job vacancies shall be posted on the Personnel Division's bulletin boards for a minimum of ten (10) calendar days prior to filling the position.
B. The Union president shall be provided with a copy of the posting.
