Common use of Commencement of the Works Clause in Contracts

Commencement of the Works. Before the commencement of the WUC, the Contractor shall: provide the Principal with a copy of the Contractor’s construction programme referred to in clause 43; effect all insurances required under clauses 7 and 8 and lodge evidence of such with the Superintendent; give the Superintendent seven (7) days’ notice in writing of the proposed date of commencement of the Works; obtain approval from the Superintendent for the nominated Contractor’s Representative; and provide to the principal a geotechnical report specifying the Site’s engineering classification.
