Compatibility with GMI2004 H Sample Clauses

Compatibility with GMI2004 H. 248 TGW Profile There are a number of differences between ES 283 024 [29] and the corresponding GMI2004 MSF profile ([30]). It is intended that this profile aligns as closely as possible to [29]. To this end, it is proposed to re-categorize certain packages in [30] that are additional or different from those in [29]. This does mean that this profile is then not strictly backwards compatible with [30]. Therefore, the following table describes the proposed treatment of such differences to better align this profile with [29]. Package ID Status in [30] Status in [29] Comments Network (nt) Mandatory Not Present Used to provide end of connection statistics (together with RTP package). Treat as an optional package. DTMF Generator (dg) Mandatory Not Present Package not used in GMI2004. Due to the emergence of RFC2833, not clear why this should be mandatory. For GMI2006, it is proposed that DTMF digits be conveyed via the voice codec or RFC 2833. Thus, it is proposed to omit this package and align with [29]. DTMF Detection (dd) Mandatory Not Present Package not used in GMI2004. Due to the emergence of RFC2833, not clear why this should be mandatory. For GMI2006, it is proposed that DTMF digits be conveyed via the voice codec or RFC 2833. Thus, it is proposed to omit this package and align with [29]. Call Type Discrimination (ctyp) Mandatory Not Present TISPAN did not include this package as all GWs are assumed to be fully G.168 compliant. Treat as optional. Generic Mandatory Optional Used for Signal Complete when the cg package is used. Treat as optional but add some words to package description. Fax Modem Detection (ftmd) Optional Not Present TISPAN did not include this package as all GWs are assumed to be fully G.168 compliant. Also ctyp is a better package for informing the MGC of the detected tone. Omit this package. Call Progress (cg) Mandatory Optional This package must be supported if Ring Tone needs to be signaled to the cct termination. Treat as optional but add some words. Overload Control (ocp) Mandatory Optional Optional in TISPAN due to the issue of ocp versus chp packages for GW overload control. One of them must be supported – so no change from [30] in effect. Package ID Status in [30] Status in [29] Comments Inactivity (it) Mandatory Optional Optional in TISPAN due to the possibility of using SCTP as a transport. Thus, no change from [30] when UDP is used as a transport. RTP (rtp) Mandatory Optional Used for connection statistics. Leave as optional....
