Common use of Compensation for Extra Assignments Clause in Contracts

Compensation for Extra Assignments. A full-time high school, Area Career Center, or junior high school Employee covered by this Agreement who agrees to perform one (1) or more extra assignments as assigned by the Employer for the school year or any portion thereof, in addition to the normal number of assignments in the school day for such Employee, shall receive additional compensation at the applicable hourly rate set forth in Appendix C. No Employee shall be compelled to accept any extra assignment; provided, however, if an Employee accepts such an assignment, the Employee will be expected by the Employer to perform the duties necessary to complete the assignment. Extra hourly assignment(s) shall be designated by the Employer as a particular class on the Employee’s teaching schedule. Payment for the extra assignment(s) shall not occur unless the Employee actually teaches the designated class. 15.5.1 A full-time high school, Area Career Center, or junior high school Employee covered by this Agreement, who agrees to perform one (1) or more extra assignments as assigned by the Employer for the school year or any portion thereof, in addition to the normal number of assignments in the school day for such Employee, shall receive additional compensation at the flat rate of fifteen percent (15%) of the base pay set in Appendix A in Column one, Row one. No Employee shall be compelled to accept any extra assignment; provided, however, if an Employee accepts such an assignment, the Employee will be expected by the Employer to perform the duties necessary to complete the assignment. Overload assignment(s) shall be designated by the Employer as a particular class on the Employee’s teaching schedule.
