Job Sharing Leave. A. A teacher with at least three (3) years’ experience may, at the discretion of the Board, obtain a leave to participate in a district job-sharing arrangement, provided that a suitably competent teacher can be retained to share the position.
B. Job-sharing arrangements may continue from year to year provided that a suitably competent teacher requests and the Board approves an annual extension and further provided that a job share is not split between two (2) school years. Such leave will not be granted for the purpose of other employment.
C. A teacher on job-sharing leave may return to full time employment only at the beginning of a school year, provided he/she has notified the District in writing of his/her desire to do so prior to March 1 of the year the teacher is on job-sharing leave.
D. The application and proposed plan for a job-sharing leave must be approved and acted upon by the immediate supervisor and submitted to the Superintendent.
E. Any teacher whose request for job-sharing leave is denied, may, upon request, receive the reason for such denial in writing from the administration.
F. The responsibilities of an assignment by two (2) job-sharing teachers may be divided according to a plan designed by the job-sharing teachers, with the concurrence of the receiving principal or if there is none, the appropriate administrator. This plan will include but not be limited to, teaching responsibilities, substitution procedures, and schedule of work hours and/or days, attendance at staff meetings, district meetings, parent conferences, and field trips.
G. Participants in job-sharing positions will be placed appropriately on the teacher’s salary schedule, and salaries will be prorated according to time worked. Teachers in job-sharing positions will receive experience movement following accumulation of more than one-half (1/2) equivalency of one (1) year of full-time service.
H. Participants in job-sharing positions will receive a prorated amount of leave benefits. Contributions to the FRS will be proportionate to the time worked. Insurance benefits shall be prorated.
I. During the period of time spent in a job-sharing position, seniority credit of the teacher(s) will accrue in proportion to the time worked.
Job Sharing Leave. An employee may request a partial leave of absence for the purpose of job sharing. A request shall be made in writing to Human Resources and shall include the purpose for the leave. In considering the request, the District shall consider criteria that includes, but is not limited to, the purpose of the leave, the ability to replace the vacant position and the impact on the educational program. The remaining portion of the position may be filled by another employee also seeking a job share leave of absence or an out-of-district candidate dependent on District staffing needs. Vacancies created by job-share leaves shall be filled on a substitute or leave-replacement contract basis, as applicable. Employees may request renewal of the job-share leave annually for up to three (3) years, with each request subject to District approval in accordance with the guidelines specified herein.
Job Sharing Leave. Job Sharing is defined as a voluntary employment arrangement in which two (2) teachers, share one (1) full-time position and a leave of absence. Both teachers applying for job sharing leave must have been granted tenure by the District prior to application.
Job Sharing Leave. 9.15.1 Job sharing as defined in this section is a voluntary opportunity for two (2) Employees to share one (1) full-time teaching position or one
(1) Employee to share one (1) full-time teaching position with a regularly employed part-time Employee hired by the District.
9.15.2 Employees who are interested in a job sharing opportunity shall submit an application for a job sharing leave to the Superintendent or his designee by February 15 of the year preceding the school year for which the leave is requested. The Employer shall notify the applicants of its disposition of the request by May 1 following the request. Each application for job sharing leave shall be granted or denied within the sole discretion of the Employer, and all such actions shall be non-precedent setting.
9.15.3 The length of a job sharing leave shall be for one (1) school year and may be renewed by the Employer, provided that a request must be made by February 15 by the participant to extend the leave for one (1) additional year. The Employer shall notify the applicant of its decision to extend the leave by May 1 following the requested extension.
9.15.4 The responsibilities of an assignment by two (2) job sharers may be divided according to a plan designed by the job sharers, subject to approval by the building administrator. This plan will include, but not be limited to teaching responsibilities, substitution procedures, schedule of work hour and/or days, and attendance at staff meetings, District meetings, parent conferences and field trips. The total planning and conference time shall time shall not exceed the planning time for a full-time Employee. This plan shall accompany and be part of the application for job sharing leave.
9.15.5 Participants in job sharing positions shall be placed appropriately on Appendix A of the current Agreement between the Association and the Employer, and salaries shall be pro-rated according to the time worked pursuant to Section 15.1.6 of the current Agreement. Participants shall receive a full salary step advancement credit for each school year of job sharing experience. Benefits in addition to salary shall be administered pursuant to Section 9.15 of the current Agreement.
9.15.6 Tenured Employees who participate in job sharing opportunities shall be considered to be on a leave of absence without compensation for those portions of the school work hours/days they are not working. Continued contractual service shall not be affected while on a job shari...
Job Sharing Leave. 10.15.1. A “job share leave” is defined as two unit members sharing one (1) full-time position for a full school year. Applicants for job share leave must submit a written proposal to the Human Resources Department no later than January 15 of the preceding school year. The original application will be signed by the immediate supervisor, the unit member and then submitted by the unit member, to the Superintendent Chief Learning Officer or designee, by January 15, for final recommendation to the Board of Trustees. Unit members allowed to participate in the job shares must sign a job share agreement with the District by March 1.The Board of Trustees shall determine whether to grant or deny proposed job-share leaves.
10.15.2. Job share proposals must include: ● Proposed work schedule ● Proposed job-share partner ● Benefits to students being served ● Advantage(s) to the instructional program
10.15.3. Each employee team in a shared teaching arrangement assumes the same commitment as a full time teacher with the following stipulations: ● Participations in back-to school night and open house. Teachers who are working a single semester must attend the events during that semester only. ● For Parent-Teacher Conference week both partners will coordinate and make every effort to fully participate in all conferences. ● Coordinate attendance at staff meetings and Professional Learning Communities. ● Coordinate acceptance of student supervisory duties. ● Coordinate participation in student-centered meetings (i.e. SST, IEP) between the shared teaching partners so that relevant information is presented and received.
10.15.4. Job Share leaves terminate at the end of the school year. The employee must reapply in writing if they are seeking to extend the job share and must reapply by January 15th.
10.15.5. If one partner resigns or is unable to fulfill their duties, the remaining partner shall be offered the other partner’s portion of the job share for the remaining portion of the school year before it is offered to other unit members, a substitute or advertised to the public. If the remaining partner does not accept the other partner’s portion, the district may use an expedited posting process of three (3) days internal posting prior to external posting.

Job Sharing Leave. Job sharing as defined in this section is a voluntary program providing two (2) tenure teachers in the same department the opportunity to propose the sharing of one (1) full-time teaching position. Tenured teachers who would like to participate in a job-sharing position shall submit an application and proposed plan for a job-sharing leave to the Superintendent by February 1st of the year preceding the school year for which the leave is requested. The job-sharing plan shall include, but not be limited to, teaching responsibilities, schedule of work hours and/or days, attendance at staff meetings, in-service days and other teaching responsibilities. All the elements of the plan shall be consistent with the provisions of this Agreement. The Board shall notify the applicants of its disposition of the request by June 1st following the request. Participants in job sharing positions shall be placed appropriately on the teachers’ salary schedule and salaries shall be pro-rated according to the time worked. Contributions to the Teachers’ Retirement System shall be pro-rated according to the time worked. Participants in job sharing positions shall receive salary step advancement at the start of the school year following the accumulation of the equivalent of .6 or more of a year of full-time service. The length of a job-sharing leave shall be for one (1) school year and may be renewed by the Board, provided that a request to renew must be made by February 1st by the participants and if such a request is made, the Board shall notify the participants of its disposition of the request by June 1st following the request. Participants in job sharing positions shall be considered on a leave of absence for that portion of the school work hours and/or days that they are not working.
Job Sharing Leave. 14.10.1 Shared contracts will be allowed at the ratio of 1 per 10 general education classrooms (rounded to the nearest whole) per site during any school year. It is not recommended that more than one job share be approved at a grade level. Site principals shall have the option of approving job-share proposals based upon the criteria in 14.10.2 and
Job Sharing Leave. A tenured teacher may apply for a job-sharing leave. Job-sharing shall be defined as an employment arrangement in which two (2) tenured teachers share one teaching position. Any teacher applying for a job-sharing leave shall adhere to the requirements and terms and conditions of Section 5.0 of this Article and the following guidelines:
A. Approval of a job sharing leave request is contingent upon the availability of a qualified and tenured teaching partner who is acceptable to the District 12 administration. If multiple job-sharing requests are received, the administration shall pursue job sharing arrangements between tenured District 12 teachers with similar professional licensure and endorsements.
B A job-sharing leave shall be for one (1) school year and shall be approved at the discretion of the Board of education on an annual basis.
Job Sharing Leave. Job sharing shall refer to two (2) employees sharing one (1) full-time position. Employees who wish to job share must notify their building administrator of their intent to job share by March 1st of the previous school year. The building administrator will have the full authority to accept or reject such a proposal, based on the interest of the students impacted by the proposed job share plan.
