COMPENSATION FOR FIREARMS QUALIFICATION. A. Notwithstanding the provisions of Article 6.1, when an employee is required to complete a firearms qualification during off-duty hours, such employee will receive two (2) hours of compensated time. Compensated time will be at the rate of time-and-one-half. No additional payment will be made regardless of how long or the number of times it may take the employee to complete the qualification in each qualification period. B. Management shall direct employees to qualify during on-duty hours whenever possible. The above method of compensation shall only be used when the employee can demonstrate to the employee's commanding officer that it was impractical to complete the qualification during on-duty hours.
