Compensatory Leave Time Sample Clauses
Compensatory Leave Time. When elected, compensatory leave time at the rate of one and one-half (1- 1/2) hours, for each over-time hour worked, will be credited to the employee’s compensatory record. Compensatory time shall not be permitted to accumulate in any amount greater than four hundred and eighty (480) hours. Employees shall elect the date on which they wish to schedule their compensatory time off and shall request the time off at least two (2) days in advance, except in emergencies. The employee must have the advance approval of the immediate supervisor or Deputy Chief before any compensatory time is used. The immediate supervisor or Deputy Chief shall consider the operational needs of the Division before granting compensatory time off. All requests for compensatory leave for the two (2) days following the day of request shall be answered at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the beginning time of the time off. All other request shall be answered within forty-eight (48) hours of the request. Employees will not be compelled to take compensatory time off. Once compensatory time off is approved, it shall stand approved. Employees will be permitted to carry their accrued unused compensatory time into the following calendar year provided the time does not exceed the permissible accumulation of four hundred eighty (480) hours.
Compensatory Leave Time. 1. Professional Development Programs Professional staff members are encouraged to contribute their expertise through participation as presenters for professional development programs as approved by the Superintendent or designee. When such professional development programs are provided by District employees at a state mandated District provided professional development day or approved conference where teacher is not receiving any compensation:
(a) One half day of preparation time will be authorized from the teacher’s normal teaching day for each state mandated District provided presentation day that the teacher is engaged for formal presentation.
(b) The teacher may elect either to be paid for the formal presentation time or to accrue compensatory leave time on the following basis:
1. For each hour of formal presentation time the teacher will either be paid for one hour (1/6th day) of the current substitute rate or accrue one hour of compensatory leave time.
2. Compensatory leave time will accrue on an hourly basis.
Compensatory Leave Time. An officer may elect to take compensatory time, in accordance with FLSA, at a rate of not less than one and one-half hours for each overtime hour worked, in lieu of cash overtime compensation.
Compensatory Leave Time. If an employee elects to accumulate compensatory time in lieu of overtime pay for overtime worked then said employee must make the request no later than the day on which the BI-weekly time sheets are to be signed, otherwise the employee will be paid at the normal overtime rate. Request for leaves chargeable to compensatory time must be submitted to the employee’s supervisor or department head in the absence of the supervisor, no later than twenty four (24) hours before the date of leave. All such leave must be scheduled with and be subject to the approval of employee’s immediate supervisor and/or Department Head. No employee may accumulate more than Twenty four (24) hours of compensatory time credit in a calendar year. Compensatory time will be accumulated at the overtime rate. (IE two (2) hours of overtime would equal three (3) hours of compensatory time) and compensated at the regular rate in effect when time taken. Employees who retire or terminate employment for any reason or are terminated for any reason shall be paid for any accumulated compensatory time. The rate of compensation shall be calculated at the regular rate in effect for the employee at the time of separation. Hours of compensatory time must be used in four (4) hour increments and may be turned in as straight time pay throughout the calendar year it was earned , but it must be used or paid out by December 31st of that year.
