Common use of Competency Pay Clause in Contracts

Competency Pay. Competency Pay differential of two dollars ($2.00) per hour shall be paid to an employee in the classification of Shift Supervisor cross trained to dispatch both Law and Fire disciplines. Training will be based on operational business needs and may include up to two (2) employees per year. To be eligible for Competency Pay, the following shall apply: • Certified competency by the Operations Manager as a Law/Fire Cross-Trained Dispatcher (All channels including Salinas Police Department and Sheriff’s Office) • Perform Law/Fire dispatch assignment for a minimum of four (4) hours per week The Director of Emergency Communications may re-evaluate and/or reassign a Law/Fire Cross-Trained Dispatcher.
