Compliance with Safety Codes of Practice. All safety related Codes of Practice relevant to the conduct of work shall be complied with. All construction wiring shall comply with AS/NZS 3012, Electrical Installations – Construction and Demolition Sites as amended, along with other relevant industry standards. As part of the Company’s training program, all employees shall be properly trained to ensure Company compliance with such Codes of Practice, in particular The Code of Practice for Safe Electrical Work. Wherever possible, Australian made and manufactured electrical, electronic and communications equipment will be used. The parties note that the Union and NECA have committed to developing a Code of Practice for the Sale of Electrical Installation Products, which they intend to promote to their members, the Office of the Chief Electrical Inspector, and the Victorian Government for adoption. Such Code will be developed by 1 September 2003 and shall include all matters deemed relevant by the industry parties. The parties further note that the Company and employees have an interest in the safety of electrical installations, electrical licensing and public safety and subject to legislative requirements (in particular the Trade Practices Act) the Company shall where practicable source such product from suppliers who follow the above mentioned Code of Practice.
