Composition of the Court. 1. Subject to paragraph 2 of this Article, the Court shall be composed of seven Judges who shall be appointed by the Authority and one of whom shall be appointed by the Authority as the President of the Court. 2. The Judges of the Court shall be chosen from among persons of impartiality and independence who fulfill the conditions required for the holding of high judicial office in their respective countries of domicile or who are jurists of recognised competence: Provided that no two or more Judges shall at any time be Nationals of the same Member State. 3. Not withstanding the provisions of paragraph 1 of this Article, the Authority may, upon the request of the Court, appoint additional Judges.
