COMPUTER LOAN PROGRAM. Effective July 1, 2006, the District will make a one-time allocation of $77,161 (seventy- seven thousand one hundred sixty-one dollars) from the AFT allocation formula for the purpose of providing computer purchase loans to unit members in the amount not to exceed $2,000 (two thousand dollars) each. Unit members may submit a request to AFT to borrow from the Computer Fund an amount not to exceed $2,000 (two thousand dollars) for the purchase of computer equipment and/or software. The specific timelines/application forms and procedures will be announced by AFT to all unit members. AFT will develop a procedure to select the employees eligible for the loan by lot and will submit a list of the selected buyers to the District. Buyers will be notified by AFT that they have been selected to receive the interest free loan. The buyer must then submit a completed check request/payroll deduction form to the District within thirty (30) calendar days of the notification date. This form will be reviewed and approved by the District. Upon approval the buyer will be issued a check made out to the vendor as soon as practical. The buyer will have the option to choose to purchase from any vendor currently used by the District. Monthly payments will be determined by dividing the check amount by twelve (12). Payroll deductions will begin on the next available pay period following the date on the check. There will be no penalty for early payoff.

COMPUTER LOAN PROGRAM. Effective February 14, 2012, the Computer Loan Program was discontinued. Associate members who are currently utilizing the program as well as members who applied for a loan before the effective date will be grandfathered in until their loan is paid off.
COMPUTER LOAN PROGRAM. Confidential Employees shall be eligible to purchase computer equipment through the City. Under this program, the City shall offer a one-percent (1%) loan to Confidential Employees who purchase a computer, printer, scanner, and/or any directly-associated computer hardware/software package. All Confidential Employees who participate in this program must pay back the loan in full either directly or through payroll deductions within one year from the date of the loan. Confidential Employees shall make twelve equal payments payable once per month. Confidential Employees shall be eligible for a subsequent loan contingent upon the full balance of the previous loan paid off in full. Employees electing to participate in this program shall specify in writing their agreement to allow withholding of any unpaid balance through payroll deductions in the event the employee leaves City service or expires. The computer equipment shall remain the property of the Confidential Employee at all times after purchase.
COMPUTER LOAN PROGRAM. Non-probationary employees are eligible to participate in a Computer Loan Program managed by the Finance Department.
