Common use of Continuation of Insurance Coverage Clause in Contracts

Continuation of Insurance Coverage. An employee who retires from the School District at age 62 or older, or who receives a public pension or a disability benefit, may continue to participate in the School District health insurance coverage after retirement. Participation may continue until the individual reaches 65 years of age or is eligible for Medicare and the individual will be included in the same insurance risk pool as active employees. The individual shall make payment of monthly premiums in advance to the School District. An employee who resigns and is not entitled to the above provisions may continue insurance coverage at the employee’s own expense for eighteen (18) months, or as provided by law.
