Continuous Appointment. 11.4.2.1 A satisfactory completion of the probationary appointment period shall result in a continuous appointment and shall establish the employee’s five (5) year cycle for evaluation pursuant to 11.5.1.4.
Continuous Appointment. A continuous appointment follows the successful completion of a probationary appointment for a position with an indefinite term and will not have an expiry date. Continuous appointments can be discontinued by the College under the provisions of Articles 5, 6 or 7.
Continuous Appointment. An employee with a continuous appointment to a position with an indefinite term who receives an unsatisfactory evaluation will have their appointment continued subject to the procedure described in Article 7.8.5.
Continuous Appointment. Committee Shall be composed of two Continuous Members designated by the Executive, the Chief Academic Officer and a Division Leader appointed by the Chief Academic Officer. Credit Course Shall mean a course within a program, which is approved and funded as a credit program by Advanced Education. Dismissal Hearing Committee Shall be an ad hoc committee consisting of three Continuous Members appointed when needed by the President of the Association (or designate) three members of Administration appointed when needed by the Chief Academic Officer a non-voting Chair, who will be a Continuous Member determined as set out in Article 17.8.b Division Leader For the purposes of this agreement shall include the Director, Student Services and Deans, and others appointed by the Chief Academic Officer to be responsible for management of a group of services designated as a division within the academic portfolio. Executive Shall mean the Executive Board of the Association as designated in the Association's By-Laws. Faculty Professional Development Committee Shall be composed of one Administrator, and normally six Continuous Members. Faculty Performance Committee Faculty Scholarship Recognition Committee Shall be composed of two Administrators, one of whom will be the Chief Academic Officer and up to six Continuous Members. Shall consist of five Members and two Administrators. Faculty Workload Committee Shall consist of two Continuous Members, the Chief Human Resources Officer, one other Administrator, and may include one additional person who is neither an Administrator nor a Member and who is selected by unanimous agreement of the other four. In cases where this latter person is selected, he/she shall be a voting Chairperson. Full Year Equivalency Shall refer to for instructors, the number of instructional hours which are equivalent to the normal annual workload for that Member’s department, as defined in Article 8.2.2. for non-instructors, the total number of hours involved in meeting the weekly workload norm (as defined in Article 8.3) over the course of a full year. Gross salary Shall consist of salary plus overload pay. Instructional Hour Shall mean a period of approximately 60 minutes during which a Member instructs a scheduled class of students in a Credit Course. Continuous Appointment. 3.51 This type of appointment is made upon satisfactory completion by the employee of a period of service under the probationary appointment. The continuous appointment shall not be terminated by Management or the employee except as provided in this Agreement.

Continuous Appointment. Conditional Probationary Members employed to instruct in New Programs or Program Expansions as defined by Alberta Learning or programs funded by other non-base funding sources may be offered a Conditional Continuous Appointment until Alberta Learning designates these programs as Continuing Programs and/or funding is designated as base funding. Once such a program is designated as a Continuing Program, the Member will be converted immediately to a Continuous Appointment Member. The provisions of Article Redundancy and Reassignment of Continuous Members, will not apply to those Members holding a Conditional Continuous Appointment. A Member holding Conditional Continuous Appointment shall be given six months notice in writing, or payment in lieu of notice, if employment is terminated.
Continuous Appointment. Procedure Librarians under consideration for continuous appointment are responsible for updating their Summary of Professional Activities Form and submitting to the AVP-LITS any additional material that they think may help in consideration of their professional circumstances. The AVP-LITS shall call a meeting of the librarians holding continuous appointment to discuss the qualifications of the candidates who are being considered. When there are fewer than three librarians with continuous appointment, the AVP-LITS may appoint a maximum of two (2) voting representatives to this meeting. The recommendation emerging from that meeting shall be forwarded to the FAC. The AVP- LITS shall also submit an independent recommendation to the FAC. To facilitate its deliberations the FAC may also receive relevant materials submitted by the librarian under consideration and any other materials deemed necessary by the FAC. The FAC shall recommend approval or denial of continuous appointment for the librarian under consideration to the AVP-LITS and the Xxxxxxx. In the event of an irreconcilable disagreement, the recommendations of the FAC, the AVP-LITS and the Xxxxxxx shall be forwarded to the President for his or her consideration. The decision to grant continuous appointment shall ultimately be the prerogative of the President and the Board of Trustees of the College and shall be final and binding and not subject to appeal. A candidate will be notified in writing by the AVP-LITS of the grant or denial of continuous appointment.
