Regular Appointment. The authorized appointment of an individual to a position covered by Civil Service.
Regular Appointment. The regular appointment of a probationary employee shall begin on the day following the end of the probationary period, subject to the condition that the Director of Human Resources receive from the appointing authority a statement in writing that the services of the employee during the probationary period were satisfactory and that the employee is recommended for permanent appointment. A probationary employee may be rejected at any time during the probation period without regard to the Xxxxxx provisions of this Memorandum of Understanding, without notice and without right of appeal or hearing. If the appointing authority has not returned the probation report, a probationary employee may be rejected from the service within a reasonable time after the probation period for failure to pass probation. If the appointing authority fails to submit in a timely manner the proper written documents certifying that a probationary employee has served in a satisfactory manner and later acknowledges it was the appointing authority's intention to do so, the regular appointment shall begin on the day following the end of the probationary period. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Memorandum of Understanding, an employee rejected during the probation period from a position in the Merit System to which the employee had been promoted or transferred from an eligible list, shall be restored to a position in the District from which the employee was promoted or transferred. An employee dismissed for other than disciplinary reasons within six (6) months after being promoted or transferred from a position in the Merit System to a position not included in the Merit System shall be restored to a position in the classification in the District from which the employee was promoted or transferred. A probationary employee who has been rejected or has resigned during probation shall not be restored to the eligible list from which the employee was certified unless the employee receives the affirmative recommendation from the appointing authority and is certified by the Director of Human Resources whose decision is final. The Director of Human Resources shall not certify the name of a person restored to the eligible list to the same appointing authority by whom the person was rejected from the same eligible list, unless such certification is requested in writing by the appointing authority.

Regular Appointment. A regular appointment is one that involves a position of indefinite term and involves full or pro rata participation in employee benefits and obligations.
Regular Appointment. 4.1.1 Regular Appointments, regardless of position, may be probationary, or continuing for an indefinite term, and shall be either full-time or part-time in nature.
4.1.2 Normally, a regular full-time appointment shall commence with a two (2) year probationary period, except where such appointment is immediately preceded by a term appointment. In these cases the probationary period may be reduced to one (1) year upon the recommendation of the Search Committee and approval from the appropriate Executive Officer;
4.1.3 Normally, a regular part-time appointment shall commence with a probationary period of two (2) years from the date of the appointment unless otherwise determined by the appropriate Executive Officer.
4.1.4 Unless directly stated otherwise in the Articles of this Agreement, a Staff Member who holds a regular part-time appointment is eligible for all terms and conditions listed for regular full-time Staff Members on a pro rata basis.
4.1.5 When a regular position becomes vacant or is newly established and a term Staff Member, hired through open competition for the term work, has been satisfactorily performing the same job duties for at least eighteen months, the term Staff Member shall be appointed to the position. Article 4.1.2 shall apply in this case.
Regular Appointment. Refers to the appointment of an employee to a budgeted position.
Regular Appointment. An employee who is not rejected prior to the completion of the prescribed probationary period shall acquire permanent status automatically. Former permanent employees appointed from a reemployment eligible list shall be given permanent appointments when reemployed. Permanent employees who are involuntarily demoted to lower classifications shall be given permanent appointments in the lower classifications.
Regular Appointment. At the successful conclusion of the one year initial appointment, the Chief shall notify the Board, who shall then make their regular promotion to the rank of Assistant/Battalion Chief.
Regular Appointment. A “Regular Appointment” is an appointment which creates an expectation of full-time or part-time employment for a period of one academic year. Regular appointments may be made on a full-time tenure track or part-time tenure track basis.
Regular Appointment. Written notice not to renew a regular appointment shall be provided by the Employer on or before March 1. A terminal appointment may be issued after March 1 which terminates the individual’s appointment at the date stated in the appointment but no sooner than at the end of the coming academic year. Failure to so provide shall constitute appointment for the following year. The decision to not renew a non-tenured appointment shall be final.
