Common use of Continuous Shift Clause in Contracts

Continuous Shift. a) An employee on continuous shift is entitled to a paid meal break of not more than thirty (30) minutes each shift. b) In the absence of any custom or agreement (e.g. existing 12 hour shift agreements), an employee will not be required to work more than five (5) hours continuously without a paid meal break. c) Where an employee is required to work two (2) consecutive standard shifts the employee is entitled to two paid meal breaks during the second shift.
