Contract Termination by the Student. Under certain circumstances, the student may terminate this contract by giving written notification to University Housing (refer to Section XV below.) If the student has occupied the assigned space and the request for termination has been approved, he/she must follow proper check-out procedures published in the University Housing Handbook. Occupancy is defined by issuance of a key and/or access card to the student for a specified room and does not require any actual physical presence by the student and/or his/her possessions. Failure to check out properly will result in a $50 administrative fine. Additional costs may be assessed for a lock change. The student must contact University Housing directly to initiate the process to terminate his/her contract.
