Common use of COST OF LIVING / WAGE ADJUSTMENT Clause in Contracts

COST OF LIVING / WAGE ADJUSTMENT. All employees covered by this Agreement shall be covered by the provisions for a cost of living increase as set forth in this Section. The wage rates as contained in this Agreement shall not be reduced by application of this Cost of Living Provision. In addition to the wage rates contained in this Agreement, all employees shall be paid cost of living adjustments to be determined on the basis of the “Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers” Consumer Price Index (United States Average, revised base 1967 = 100), published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, United States Department of Labor, in the manner described in this Section (hereafter referred to as the “Index”).
